Joining CLAP-TECH Pathway: Nurture HK’s Future IT and Creative Media Talent

If you or your company is looking for opportunities to contribute to nurturing young IT and creative media talents, join the Jockey Club Multiple Pathways Initiative – CLAP-TECH Pathway, Hong Kong’s first through-train VPET (Vocational, Professional Education & Training) pathway in mainstream secondary and post-secondary education.

CLAP-TECH Pathway is looking for industry partners and career mentors to join their mission of providing secondary and post-secondary students with meaningful workplace learning opportunities. Since 2020, the Pathway has welcomed 26 industry partners from the business sector and 120+ career mentors to mentor 800+ students in the domains of information technology and creative media.

Industry Partners
Welcome IT or creative media companies to join.
Collaborate to provide workplace exposure opportunities for students, e.g. company visits, guest lectures, summer internship placements.
Career Mentors – Corporate or Individual Capacity
Welcome professionals with 5+ years of experience, fluent Cantonese and current jobs in IT or creative media to join as career mentors. Career mentors will meet students twice a year to help them explore future career opportunities.
Corporate Level – welcome teams of 4+ mentors from the same company to pair with a group of secondary school students, meetings will be held at schools.
Individual Capacity – welcome IT professionals to join as career mentors for our Higher Diploma in Data Science students at Hong Kong Baptist University and/or other self-arranged locations.

Funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, CLAP-TECH Pathway is a tripartite partnership among Hong Kong Baptist University, industry partners, and secondary schools, and is supported by the Professional Information Security Association (PISA). The Pathway equips students with technical and soft skills for the future workforce by incorporating career and life development in the curriculum.
