Calling for Election Candidates
Dear PISA and (ISC)2 HK Chapter members,
As mentioned in the PISA AGM email sent earlier this week, the joint AGMs and Committee Elections will be held on October 14, 2023 when all our existing valid PISA members are eligible to vote during the AGM.
For those members who are interested to join the elections as candidates, please note that there are 4 vacancies in PISA ExCo (4 vacancies in 2-year term) and 4 vacancies in the (ISC)2 HK Chapter committee. Jim SHEK and Andy HO have been appointed as the election committee to coordinate this event.
If you are interested to join one or more of the elections as candidate, please read carefully the attached “Rules & Regulations for Election of Executive Committee Member”, fill in and sign the Nomination Form [Download Here].
Nominated candidate should email the completed nomination form to the Election Committee ( andy.ho@pisa.org.hk and jim.shek@pisa.org.hk ) no later than 10 calendars days prior to the election date (ie. before Oct 4, 2023) . The Election Committee will acknowledge each submitted nomination via email.
Should you have any question, please feel free to contact andy.ho@pisa.org.hk or jim.shek@pisa.org.hk
Thank you and we look forward to meeting you in the AGMs.
Also, for the 2023-2024 membership fee will be collected during the AGM.
Regards, Andy HO & Jim SHEK (Email distributed to PISAM on 14 & 15 Sep)
Continuous innovation in Internet technology development and applications has enhanced the quality of life and work efficiency but at the same time has created various new cyber security challenges. It only serves to fuel the demand for cyber security professionals. To cope with the challenges, the training of local cyber security practitioners and nurturing of new generations are indispensable.
For the new generation, Technology Education (TechEd) could foster and enhance their knowledge and interest in cyber security, train up their creative thinking, and learn skills such as cryptography, programming concept, network forensics to cope with new challenges.
For existing cyber security practitioners, regular update of latest trends and enhancement of cyber security skills can help organisations to reduce the risk and improve incident response capability.
In light of this, the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT) and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) , and Professional Information Security Association (PISA) as one of the Co-organisers, will jointly organise the “Hong Kong Cyber Security New Generation Capture the Flag (CTF) Challenge 2023” (The Contest) to strengthen the cyber security skills and awareness of the industry and students and encourage problem solving through teamwork, creative thinking and cyber security skills.
Workshops by cyber security experts will be organised to help the participants understand the format and type of questions of the Contest and get prepared for it.
